| Sir Peter Maxwell Davies is universally acknowledged as one of the foremost composers of our time. His orchestral works include six symphonies and eleven concertos. The first performance of this work was April 22, 1969, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. The performance featured Roy Hart and The Pierrot Players, and was conducted by Peter Maxwell Davies. This is the vocal score for the work. The music contains modern notation and there are performance notes to detail what is supposed to be played. The score contains the vocal lines along with the piano part, in score format. There are cues for the other instruments, but their parts do not appear in this folio as complete parts.
